Alison Wells is a Trinidadian artist whose paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Europe. These include Colo Colo Gallery in New Bedford, Massachusetts; Bromfield Gallery in Boston Massachusetts; D’art Contemporaine in Pont Aven, France, the National Museum of Trinidad and Tobago in Port of Spain, Trinidad; and the Mutual Life Gallery in Kingston, Jamaica. In addition, Wells was one of the artists chosen to exhibit her work at the “Fifth Summit of the Americas” held in Trinidad and Tobago in April, 2009.

Her paintings are part of public and corporate collections, including those of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, POS, Trinidad; the Southcoast Woman’s Fund New Bedford, Massachusetts; the Centre International d’art Contemporain, Pont Aven, France; the National Museum of Trinidad and Tobago, POS Trinidad; and Prestige Holdings Ltd. POS, Trinidad.

Wells is the recipient of several awards such as the Ayuto Ito Award and the Chancellor Centennial Award from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth; and was the second place award winner of the Wray J. and Nephew Art Exhibition and Competition in Kingston, Jamaica.

Alison Wells was born in Diego Martin, Trinidad in 1972. She received a MFA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in Dartmouth, Massachusetts and a BFA from the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica.
