If you plan on attending the festival there is the Fast Ferry that leaves from The State Pierre in New Bedford MA (Passengers only) or the ferry that leaves from Woods Hole MA (Passengers and Vehicles).

Formed in 1956 the Cottagers are a group of 100 professional African American women homeowners on Martha’s Vineyard whose mission is to promote education a sense of cultural pride and the value of service to the community for the people of the island The women of the Cottagers are important role models epitomizing the strength of women through quiet activism The group fundraises all summer to support multiple programs Check our calendar page for this summer’s activities
The Cottagers home Cottagers Corner was dedicated on July 5th 2006 as the 18th site on The African American Heritage Trail in Oak Bluffs Cottagers Corner is an important site on the African American Heritage Trail honoring the work of the women of the Cottagers and the role that they have played in our community. The building has been used for a variety of purposes over the years including the After School Program which is well known to most islanders.
